James Bond 007: Nightfire is a first-person/isometric action shooter released by Electronic Arts on the GBA in 2003.
Developed by JV Games and published by EA in March 2003, James Bond 007: Nightfire for the GBA is a handheld adaptation of the hit console title, blending isometric shooting with first-person tactical espionage. The story follows industrialist Raphael Drake, who poses as a recycler of decommissioned nuclear weapons but secretly plots world conquest via a space station missile system. Bond is tasked with infiltrating locations ranging from an Austrian castle and Tokyo to the Olympus base, utilizing an extensive arsenal of firearms and high-tech spy gadgets to neutralize the threat.
The tools provided by Q are the key to success. The lighter functions as both a camera and a decryption device; the lighter's laser can cut through chains and door locks; and the Q-Screwdriver can be used to remove vent grilles to reveal secret passages.
Avoid direct confrontations with large groups of enemies in open areas. Use the silenced pistol for precise headshots and leverage walls as cover to manage enemy lines of sight. When encountering armored soldiers or clusters of enemies, prioritize grenades or sniper rifles to clear the area quickly.
Some levels feature alarm systems; being spotted by cameras or patrolling guards will trigger infinite reinforcements. Prioritize stealthily neutralizing guards upon detection and use hacking tools to disable security systems.
When facing high-HP bosses, keep moving to dodge direct fire and use environmental obstacles to block damage. During their reload or recovery phases, unleash full firepower with rocket launchers or high-powered rifles to easily secure victory.
