Game Details:

Raiden II was officially released in arcades by Seibu Kaihatsu in 1993. As the direct sequel to the original title, the game is set in a future where Earth has been invaded by extraterrestrial lifeforms, and players pilot the "Raiden" high-altitude supersonic fighter to mount a counterattack. The game features a significant leap in visual fidelity, particularly in the physics of debris scattering from destroyed enemy craft. In addition to the Red Spread Shot and Blue Laser from the previous game, this entry introduces the iconic "Purple Plasma Laser," greatly enhancing both tactical depth and visual impact.

Game Guide:

  1. Weapon Selection: The Red Spread Shot has a wide coverage area, ideal for clearing fodder enemies; the Blue Laser features concentrated power for boss encounters; the Purple Laser offers auto-targeting but has lower damage output. It is recommended to use the Blue or Red weapons in the mid-to-late game to maintain clearing efficiency.
  2. Sub-weapons: Missiles are divided into Homing (H) and high-damage straight-fire Missiles (M). For pure damage output, M is recommended.
  3. Bomb Strategy: There are two types of BOMBs in this game. The traditional Red Bomb has a wide area of effect but features a slight delay, while the Yellow Cluster Bomb provides instant burst damage. In critical moments, you must anticipate threats in advance.
  4. Secret Elements: Staying over or destroying specific objects within forests or building debris in certain stages can trigger the "Fairy" or "Miclus" bonus items, providing a full-power refill and extra points, respectively.
  5. Movement Tips: Since enemy projectiles in this game are extremely fast, it is recommended to stay in the bottom-middle area and strafe side-to-side. Avoid getting trapped in screen corners and stay alert for kamikaze units flanking you. Mastering the fixed bullet patterns of bosses is the key to clearing the game.
