The game is a vertical scroller with a hardcore mecha aesthetic. Players can choose between two fighters with different performance characteristics. Its core system is the "Score Chip" mechanic: the closer you are to an enemy when you destroy it, the higher the level of the Score Chip it drops (up to a maximum of level 5). This design forces players to forgo safe distances and engage in risky, close-quarters combat. Furthermore, the true final boss in the second playthrough, "Shin Evacudader," is one of the most notorious nightmares in STG history.
To get a high score, you must master point-blank attacks. Get right up next to enemies the moment they spawn and destroy them to quickly accumulate 5x multiplier chips. When facing dense bullet patterns, learn to watch your "hitbox," not the entire ship sprite; your ship's hitbox is only the small red dot at its center.
Make good use of "Focus Mode" (hold the fire button), which allows for more precise movement. Don't be hesitant to use your Bombs (BOMs). Using a bomb the moment you're trapped not only clears the screen but also grants you a brief period of invincibility to reposition. For boss fights, memorizing their patterns is the only way forward; pay close attention to the gaps and rhythms in their bullet patterns.
