Game Details:

Developed by Dimps and published by Banpresto for the GBA in November 2004, Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure faithfully recreates the original Dragon Ball anime storyline, covering iconic chapters such as the search for the Dragon Balls, the World Martial Arts Tournament, and the showdown against King Piccolo. The game masterfully blends three gameplay modes: side-scrolling action platforming, Flying Nimbus aerial combat, and one-on-one fighting. With its exceptionally smooth controls, exquisite 2D pixel art, and wealth of hidden secrets, it is widely considered one of the highest-quality anime-based action games on the GBA platform.

Game Guide:

Side-Scrolling Combat:

Combine normal attacks with directional inputs to perform various combos. Tapping "Up + A" executes a Rising Dragon strike to launch enemies into the air, while pressing the "R button" utilizes the Power Pole for long-range sweeps and crowd control. When facing large groups of grunts, use the Power Pole Whirlwind to clear the screen without taking damage.

1v1 Fighting Mode:

Press the L button to charge your Ki; once full, use the button combination to unleash a "Kamehameha." When facing high-difficulty bosses (like Mercenary Tao or King Piccolo), avoid reckless brute-forcing. Use quick dashes to dodge their moves, then strike with a flurry of melee combos during their recovery frames to maximize hitstun before finishing with a Kamehameha for peak damage output.

Hidden Secrets & Character Progression:

Clearing the main story unlocks Extra Mode and mini-games. Be sure to search for Hearts and Cards hidden in high places or behind secret walls within levels to increase your max HP and unlock the complete Character Gallery.
