Game Details:

This game technically showcases Taito's masterful use of scaling technology. The game screen is centered on the opponent's perspective, and players can not only throw jabs, hooks, and devastating uppercuts, but also perform nimble dodges and blocks using the analog sticks. Unlike typical fighting games, this title introduces a dual system of "Fighting Spirit" and "Stamina." When a character takes heavy damage, they show clear visual feedback, such as facial swelling and even bloodstains. These visual details enhance the brutality and realism of the matches. Additionally, the game features multiple opponents with distinct personalities and boxing styles, each requiring players to develop specific strategies to defeat.

Game Guide:

  • Observe Rhythm and Counter: Mindlessly mashing the attack button is the most common mistake for beginners. In *Prime Time Fighter*, defense and countering are key to victory. Observe your opponent's startup animations and dodge the instant they throw a punch, which will put them into a brief stun state. Capitalize on this window to land powerful combos, which can deal double or even more damage and rapidly build up the opponent's knockdown gauge.
  • Targeting Specific Body Parts: Don't just aim for the opponent's head. While body blows deal less damage per hit, they significantly drain the opponent's stamina bar. When an opponent is low on stamina, their punching speed will decrease, and openings will appear in their defense. Alternating between head and body attacks is an effective strategy for defeating high-difficulty AI.
  • Timing Your Super Move: When your power gauge is full, you can unleash a powerful special move. It's not recommended to use it when the opponent's guard is up. The best time is right after successfully dodging a heavy punch, immediately following up with your super to ensure it fully connects. This will usually send the opponent straight into a knockdown count.
  • Surviving the Knockdown Count: If you are knocked down, you need to rapidly mash buttons to recover stamina and get back up. For the first few seconds after getting up, you'll be in a vulnerable state. Prioritize a full defensive stance, create distance, and wait for your stamina bar to recover before looking for an opportunity to counter-attack.
