"Mario & Luigi RPG 3: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey" is a dual RPG adventure for the Nintendo 3DS.
This is a remake of the classic NDS RPG "Mario & Luigi RPG 3: Bowser's Inside Story + Bowser Jr.'s Journey" with a new chapter added, "Bowser Jr.'s Journey." In the main story, Mario and Luigi are accidentally sucked into Bowser's body and must adventure inside, cooperating with Bowser's external actions to break the "Blorbs virus" threat to the Mushroom Kingdom. The game cleverly alternates perspectives between the two sets of characters, linking the inside and outside, filled with strategy and fun.
The combat still retains the series' characteristic turn-based system combined with action QTE mechanics, requiring players to precisely operate jumps, attacks, and defenses. Bowser has independent combat methods, focusing more on power and wide-area skills. The game also introduces the "Giant Bowser Battle" system, using a side-scrolling action combat style to fight giant Bosses.
The new "Bowser Jr.'s Journey" adopts a simplified strategy simulation gameplay, telling the story of Bowser Jr. organizing legions and launching conquests when his father is away. The gameplay leans towards auto-battle + team layout, short in content but supplements the series' worldview.
The graphics have been fully redrawn in high definition, and the music and UI have also been optimized, making it an excellent remake that is worth a try for both series fans and new players.
If you missed the original NDS version, this 3DS remake is your best chance to enter the world of "Mario & Luigi RPG." "Bowser's Inside Story" is the most popular installment in the series, with its dual-main-story gameplay and rich and interesting character interactions. It not only has a clever plot, but also challenging combat pacing. The addition of "Bowser Jr.'s Journey" makes the image of the Bowser family more three-dimensional and adds new gameplay types to the game. The game is meticulously crafted overall, with excellent QTE system feel, testing both strategy and fun. Whether you are a Mario fan, an RPG enthusiast, or a player who loves a relaxed and humorous style, this game is very worth spending time to experience.
