Game Details:

In "Bouncy Bug," players take on the role of a cute little car resembling a Volkswagen Beetle. The game's core mechanic is "jumping"; the car constantly bounces between the ground and various platforms. Players must not only control its left and right movement but also manage their jump height by pressing a button to collect scoring items like coins and jewels along the way. The level design is highly creative, taking you from the rooftops of bustling city skyscrapers to the mysterious interiors of pyramids, and even into the deep sea and outer space. Although the graphics feature an early pixel art style, the varied and colorful backgrounds create an excellent atmosphere of adventure. It's considered a forerunner to later parkour and side-scrolling platformer games.

Game Guide:

Mastering Jump Height:

Jump height in the game is controllable. Holding down the jump button allows for a higher jump, which is crucial for clearing wider gaps between buildings or avoiding high obstacles. It's recommended that players practice switching between "chain jumps" and "high jumps" in open areas.

Anticipate the Scroll Speed:

The game features an auto side-scrolling mechanic. This means you can't stop to think; you must constantly pay attention to the enemies and terrain appearing on the right side of the screen. It's advisable to keep your focus slightly to the right of the screen's center to give yourself enough reaction time for upcoming jumps.

Collect Scoring Items:

Your score directly affects how many extra lives you earn. Try to collect all the dots, money bags, and jewels. Especially in the pyramid level, collecting items in a specific sequence can trigger a higher bonus score.

Dealing with Various Enemies:

Different levels have different enemies, such as UFOs in the clouds or sea creatures in the deep ocean. Since you can't attack directly (unless you pick up a specific power-up), you'll need to time your jumps to leap over enemies most of the time.

Watch for Gravity Changes:

In different settings (like the space level), the jump physics will change subtly. In low-gravity environments, the car's hang time is longer, so be careful not to jump too high and hit traps on the ceiling.
