Game Details:

In this game, players can experience a "sense of speed" unlike that of conventional action games. The level design takes full advantage of the protagonist's parkour-like abilities, featuring not only traditional ground-based close-quarters combat but also numerous sequences that require players to dodge obstacles and destroy enemies while running at high speeds. The protagonist has a variety of attacks, including melee combos, aerial kicks, and a powerful screen-clearing ultimate attack. Additionally, the game supports two-player co-op, allowing each player to control a different color-swapped Eight Man as they tackle the stages together. The graphics are vibrant, the bosses are massive and have a mecha-aesthetic, and the sound effects have a satisfying impact, fully showcasing the performance advantages of the Neo Geo hardware at the time.

Strategy Guide:

  • Utilize the High-Speed Dash: Running is the core mechanic of this game. Pressing the attack button while moving at high speed unleashes a dash attack, which not only quickly clears out rows of minions but can also be used to avoid certain projectiles with low-priority hitboxes thanks to its invincibility frames.
  • Strategic Use of Ultimate Attacks: The energy bar at the bottom of the screen allows you to unleash a screen-clearing lightning attack. It's recommended to save your ultimate for when there are more than five enemies on screen, or when you're cornered during a boss fight, as it can instantly clear the screen and get you out of a tight spot.
  • The Importance of Jump Attacks: Many enemies focus their defenses on their front. Use jumps to get over their frontal hitboxes and combine it with a downward attack to effectively break through shielded or heavily armored minions.
  • Boss Battle Strategies:
    • First Stage Boss (Giant Mecha): Its attacks have a clear rhythm. Use the openings when it raises its arms to land a 3-4 hit combo, then quickly retreat. Don't get greedy with your hits.
    • Later Dynamic Stages: Pay attention to cues in the background. When the protagonist is running at high speed, obstacles will flash in advance. Jumping or sliding early is key to maintaining your health.
  • Item Pickup Priority: The "P" icons dropped in the stage can enhance your attack range and power. In two-player mode, it's recommended to let one player max out their level first to ensure a consistent source of high damage when facing mid-bosses or elite enemies.
