Happy Feet is an action-adventure game developed by Artificial Mind and Movement and published by Midway for the Game Boy Advance in November 2006, adapted from the Academy Award-winning Warner Bros. animated film of the same name. Set in the Emperor Penguin kingdom of Antarctica—where every penguin relies on their unique heartsong to attract a mate—the story follows Mumble, a penguin born tone-deaf who instead possesses a dazzling talent for tap-dancing "happy feet." In order to fit in with his colony and solve the mystery of their dwindling fish supply, Mumble sets off on an adventure to prove himself and save his home.
Dance levels feature rhythm-based gameplay where directional arrows drop from the top of the screen. Press the corresponding D-Pad directions or action buttons the precise moment an arrow enters the target zone. Chaining consecutive "Perfect" hits maxes out your combo meter, triggering a bonus dance mode for massive score multipliers.
During sliding levels, Mumble races across the ice on his belly. Focus on maintaining an optimal line and use snow ramps to catch air; pressing the designated buttons while airborne lets you pull off tricks to build up your boost meter.
Stay alert to dodge obstacles like rocks, ice crevasses, and predators like leopard seals along the course. When coming across branching paths, prioritize elevated routes that offer more fish collectibles and boost pads.
When facing off against the colony leaders and elders in choral trials, keep a close eye on sudden tempo changes in the arrow prompts. Anticipate their falling speed and keep your rhythm steady to clear the stage with a high score.
