Game Details:

This title was a bold attempt by Human Corporation to enter the arcade market by experimenting with the *Fire Pro Wrestling* system. In the Sega Saturn port, it was officially named *Fire Pro Wrestling Gaiden: Blazing Tornado*. Unlike the mainline entries which focus on realism and complex mechanics, this title plays more like a wrestling-themed action fighting game. Players can choose from wrestlers representing different countries (such as Japan, the USA, France, etc.) and perform spectacular throws, submission holds, and aerial attacks using simple button combinations or by mashing buttons. The game features a closer camera perspective than most wrestling games of its time, with large character sprites and fluid 2D animation that deliver an incredible sense of impact, making it easy for even players unfamiliar with wrestling rules to pick up and play.

Game Guide:

  • Master the Lock-Up System: Unlike traditional arcade wrestling games, this game's grapple logic relies heavily on a "Power Struggle." When both characters get close and enter a lock-up state, the system determines the winner based on the player's button-mashing frequency, even though there's no visible progress bar on screen. For beginners, we recommend using the side of your thumb to rapidly slide across the buttons to win. Once you win the lock-up, you can perform powerful German suplexes or strong throws by combining it with a directional input (e.g., Back + Heavy Attack).
  • Special Moves & Finishers: Each character has unique special move commands. For example, when using the power-type character Jailbreaker Bullnoi, his ultimate move often requires players to input joystick commands at a specific distance. Notably, the game introduces "Suicide Dives" (Suicida). When an opponent is thrown outside the ring, the player can rebound off the ropes and press the jump button to perform a spectacular diving attack to the outside.
  • Winning Strategy: It's difficult to win with strikes alone. When the opponent's health bar is in the red (indicated by their skin turning red), you must take them down with a high-damage grapple move and quickly press the pin button to get the 3-count. In the final challenge of the single-player mode, be sure to keep your distance from the boss, Ludwig. Use light attacks to poke and avoid being instantly countered by his high-priority throws.
