Game Details:

In terms of gameplay, this game fully inherits the tense and exciting bomb-maze battle mechanics of the Bomberman series. On a grid-based map, players must strategically place bombs, time their three-second detonation, and use the cross-shaped blast wave to destroy obstacles and eliminate enemies.

Core Differences and Features

1. Character Roster: In single-player mode, players can choose to control either Wario or Bomberman. Although both characters have the same basic abilities and controls, they each have unique appearances and victory animations. The introduction of Wario brings a touch of mischievous and greedy humor to this classic game.

2. Power-up System: By blowing up obstacles, players can obtain various power-ups, including:

  • Fire: Increases the bomb's blast radius.
  • Bomb: Increases the maximum number of bombs you can place.
  • Bomb Kick: Allows the player to kick placed bombs.
  • Wall Pass: Allows the player to pass through soft blocks.

3. Modes: The game primarily features a single-player campaign with 8 worlds (each containing 8 stages and 1 boss), as well as a classic two-player battle mode (requiring a link cable), which is the essence of the game's fun.

Game Guide:

I. Basic Positioning and Timing

  • Predictive Movement: A bomb's explosion is cross-shaped (up, down, left, and right). After placing a bomb, immediately move to a safe zone and anticipate the path your opponent will take to escape. Place your next bomb on their predicted path to create a "double trap."
  • The "Wall Trap": Force an enemy into a corner or to the edge of the map, then place a bomb on their only escape route. If you have the Kick power-up, you can quickly kick a bomb towards your opponent, giving them no time to react.
  • Bomb Chain Reactions: Cleverly place multiple bombs so that the blast from the first one detonates the second, creating a chain reaction that covers a larger area. In single-player mode, this is an effective way to quickly clear numerous obstacles and enemies.

II. Strategic Use of Power-ups

  • Balancing Fire and Speed: The Fire power-up is crucial, giving you greater control over the map. However, a massive blast radius paired with slow movement speed can get you trapped by your own bombs. Therefore, prioritize collecting Speed power-ups to ensure you can quickly escape your own blast zones.
  • The Offense of the Kick: The Kick power-up is the most aggressive item. In two-player battles, kicking a bomb into an opponent's escape path is key to a quick victory. But be careful, as your opponent can also kick the bomb right back at you.
  • Avoiding Negative Items: The game contains negative items, such as the Skull. Picking one up will inflict random debuffs, such as slowing your character down or preventing you from placing bombs. In a battle, if you can't avoid it, try to trick your opponent into picking it up instead.

III. Single-Player Boss Battle Strategies

The boss battle at the end of each world usually takes place on a map with a special layout. Bosses are immune to regular bomb blasts; you must destroy obstacles to find their weak point (often another bomb-like object or a hidden switch) or employ a special strategy to defeat them.

  • Observe Patterns: Boss movements and attacks usually follow a fixed pattern. For example, if a boss is chasing you, use your speed to place a bomb behind an obstacle and wait for the boss to enter the blast radius.
  • Clear a Path: Prioritize blowing up obstacles near the boss to create more room for yourself to maneuver and to make it easier to attack its weak point.
