Pang 3 is no longer limited to the original duo; players can choose from different characters, such as an explorer with a rapid-fire shot or a craftsman who can shoot diagonally. This change greatly enhances the game's gameplay and replay value. Level design now includes more interactive environmental elements, like destructible barriers and special gravity zones. In addition to the classic Tour Mode, the game also features an enhanced Challenge Mode, demanding greater precision and timing from the player.

Beginners should choose a character with a balanced attack rate to get familiar with the balloons' bounce height. In this third installment, it's crucial to use the stage edges to herd the balloons, as their rebound trajectory off walls is fixed. When faced with a large number of small balloons, don't panic and run around. Instead, find an opening, hold your ground, and shoot straight up. Make good use of hidden items; breaking certain blocks can reveal high-score bonuses or powerful weapons. Since characters in this game have different hitbox sizes, you must accurately predict where large balloons will land by their shadows to avoid getting grazed and losing a life.
