Game Details:

Released by Nintendo in Japan in June 2003, MOTHER 1+2 is a GBA port collection of the RPG classics Mother (Famicom) and Mother 2 (Super Famicom). Developed under the leadership of Shigesato Itoi, the series deviates from traditional medieval fantasy RPGs, setting its story in a modern American town. Players control a young boy with psychic powers (PSI) who, alongside his friends, investigates meteorite anomalies and alien attacks to save the world. The collection features optimized handheld controls and additional bonus content such as a gallery.

Game Guide:

Mother 1 Combat Tips:

The first game has a high difficulty level. In the early stages, you should grind for levels and currency around town; be sure to prioritize buying gear to increase defense. When facing tough enemies, use Ninten's PSI Shield and status-inflicting skills to manage the fight, and return home to rest or eat a Hamburger whenever the party's health is low.

Mother 2 Tactics and the Rolling HP Meter:

Mother 2 introduced the classic "Rolling HP Meter" system, where lethal damage does not deplete HP instantly. Characters can be saved by using healing skills or ending the battle before the meter hits zero.

Party Roles and Composition:

Ness is the primary physical attacker and group healer; Paula controls powerful elemental PK magic (PK Fire/Freeze); Jeff excels at using mechanical items to cause defense breaks and fixed damage; Poo can consume PP to cast PK Starstorm for full-screen clearance.

Winning Boss Battles:

Against major bosses, prioritize Paula's PK Freeze for high single-target damage and freezing potential, complemented by Ness's PK Rockin'. Keeping shields active on the party at all times will help secure a stable victory.
