Mega Man Zero 3 is an action platformer released by Capcom on the GBA in 2004.
Mega Man Zero 3 was developed by Inti Creates and published by CAPCOM for the GBA in April 2004. This title is the third mainline entry in the Mega Man Zero series. Picking up where the previous game left off, after Ciel develops a replacement energy source, the evil scientist Dr. Weil brings back the sealed Omega in an attempt to reclaim control of Neo Arcadia. Zero takes up his Z-Saber once more to fight for the peace of both humans and Reploids. The game introduces the brand-new Secret Disk system and a customizable Body Chip system. With its fluid action and masterfully designed levels reaching the peak of the GBA platform, it is hailed as a masterpiece by countless players.
The tedious elf-feeding mechanism from the previous title has been removed. Elves are now categorized into "Nurse," "Animal," and "Hacker" types. Combined with collected Foot Chips (such as the Shadow Dash for specialized movement or the Frog chip for wall-clinging), survivability is greatly enhanced.
The Z-Saber and Buster Shot remain the core arsenal. The newly added "Recoil Rod" can knock back enemies when charged or be used against the ground for a high jump—an essential skill for traversing levels and dodging a boss's screen-wide attacks.
Defeating a level boss with an A or S rank unlocks powerful EX Skills (such as Tenshouzan or Rakusaiha). Against late-game high-difficulty bosses, utilizing the "Z-Saber triple slash + charged Recoil Rod" combo or exploiting elemental weaknesses can instantly cause stagger and deal massive damage.
In Phase 1, focus on avoiding falling rocks and hand lasers. In Phase 2, dodge the giant fusion form. In Phase 3, against the "True Zero" form, use dash invincibility frames to evade his devastating multi-slash combos, then counter with a charged Z-Saber slash during his recovery frames to secure the win.
