"Flying Shark" adopts a top-down vertical scrolling perspective, with the player-controlled biplane having two attack methods: basic shooting and a limited number of bombs. Bombs can clear a large area of enemies and enemy fire on the screen. The game's art style has a military theme and a tough feel, with the background set in a war-torn battlefield. Players need precise control to dodge the overwhelming bullets, while also making reasonable use of bombs to clear the screen at critical moments. As the levels progress, the types of enemies and attack patterns will become more complex, putting higher demands on the player's reaction speed and strategic thinking. This game is the first in Toaplan's "Shark series," laying the foundation for subsequent classic clearing shooting games.
The bullets fired by enemies are relatively slow, but numerous. Avoid staying in the center of the screen or in one position for a long time. Using "snake-like movement" is an effective way to avoid dense fire, that is, move left and right in small steps, and quickly pass through the gaps after attracting the barrage.
Eliminate the most threatening enemies first. For example, the ground turrets and moving tanks will launch large-area shells; enemies in the air will enter the screen from the flanks and fire densely. When you see these targets, immediately concentrate your firepower to eliminate them. Pay special attention to the fast vehicles that suddenly appear at the bottom of the screen, they may cause damage before you react.
Bombs are lifesavers, but they are limited in number. Don't be stingy with bombs, but they must be used at critical moments:
In the game, destroying certain enemies or targets will drop "P" items, collecting which can improve the firepower level of the main weapon. High-level firepower is the guarantee for quickly clearing monsters and challenging Bosses. Be sure to keep the firepower at the highest or second-highest level. If you are shot down by mistake, find the next "P" item as soon as possible to restore your combat effectiveness.
