"Deep Labyrinth" is a first-person perspective action role-playing game, originally released by ATLUS on the NDS platform.
"Deep Labyrinth" was developed by Interactive Brains and published by ATLUS. Initially a mobile game, it was later ported to the Nintendo DS, becoming one of the first DS RPGs to explore 3D dungeon gameplay. The game tells the story of the protagonist who, in order to rescue family members or a beloved dog (depending on the chosen storyline), enters a magical maze filled with monsters and puzzles.
The biggest feature of this game is the first-person perspective, where players use the touch screen to attack, cast spells, and use items. The game features a spell gesture system: when casting spells, players need to draw specific shapes on the screen with the stylus (e.g., drawing a circle for a fireball), which enhances the interactivity.
If you like first-person RPGs that emphasize exploration and combat, but also want a more relaxed gameplay experience with portability, then "Deep Labyrinth" will catch your eye. Its unique touch-based spellcasting system makes spell release ritualistic and fun; and dungeon exploration is full of unknowns, often leading to surprising or tense events.
At the same time, the game is divided into two completely different story chapters, providing players with completely different gameplay rhythms and experiences. Although it's one of the early DS titles, it's a sincere ARPG in terms of system creativity, gameplay freedom, and content volume. For players who enjoy using their brains and experiencing immersive fantasy, it's worth a try.
