Game Details:

This isn't just a simple sequel, but a fully enhanced version of the original game. The game's most significant change is the addition of a new ninja character named "Saizo (西格尔)", whose unpredictable movement and trap abilities have drastically altered the competitive meta. The developers have redrawn some of the stage backgrounds and improved the sound effects, making the combat atmosphere more intense. In terms of core systems, this version fine-tunes character hitboxes and timing windows, making combos more forgiving while also increasing the importance of defensive counters. Even today, it frequently appears in major retro fighting game tournaments (like EVO Retro events) and is widely regarded as a classic that feels the most like Street Fighter yet possesses its own unique high-speed rhythm.

Game Guide:

  • New Character Saizo (西格尔) Starter Guide: Saizo is a classic mobility-focused character who excels at mid-to-long-range control. His "Shuriken" can not only be used for zoning but can also be thrown mid-air. Using his movement speed for mix-ups is a core part of his strategy. A quick dash into a crouching light kick is an effective way to break most opponents' mid guard.
  • Advanced Use of the Power Gauge: In Revenge, the power gauge builds slightly faster. Remember not to throw out raw supers recklessly, as the punish damage in this game is extremely high. The best times to use it are for "Force Cancels" during a combo, or as an anti-air super with invincibility frames against an opponent's jump-in.
  • Revised Combo Mechanics: This version improves the fluidity of canceling normal-hit strings into command moves. For example, when playing as Condor, you can use his strong priority to apply pressure with a series of light attacks, then instantly follow up with a throw or special when the opponent tries to interrupt.
  • Mind Games and the Stun Gauge: Sustained pressure will quickly fill the opponent's stun gauge. Because Revenge is so fast-paced, it's recommended to adopt an offensive strategy that switches between high and low attacks. Use short hop attacks to bait the opponent into a standing block, then immediately switch to a low attack. This can often lead to a quick stun, allowing you to secure the round.
