In the arcades of the early '90s, this title stood out with its exaggerated character sprites and gorgeous background details. The gameplay system revolves around 'mashing' and 'timing': When two wrestlers enter a close-quarters grapple (Lock-up), players must rapidly mash buttons to gain the upper hand in the test of strength. In addition to standard ring matches, the game also introduced a 'Death Match' mode, allowing players to attack opponents with environmental objects like telephone poles and steel crates. This design, which combines elements of street brawling with professional wrestling, makes the combat exceptionally intense and unpredictable.
