Game Details:

The development team has equipped the game with 16 attack methods, combining up, down, left, and right with the "punch" or "kick" keys to execute high/medium/low attacks, and can perform jump kicks and crouching kicks, making for deep gameplay. Players need to defeat 11 different opponents in the arcade version and 5 in the NES/home version, such as martial arts masters with knives, chain whips, and nunchucks, and finally fight the mirror image opponent, Blues. Each battle is won by a health bar, and KOing the opponent allows you to enter the next round; after the battle, you will receive bonus points, and winning streaks can be accumulated. The game also ends the battle with the sound effect "Thank you" (xiè xiè), becoming a classic Easter egg.

Editor's Recommendation:

As a foundation for the early arcade era of fighting games, "Kung-Fu Master" realized the prototype of horizontal fighting - diverse attack methods, a health bar mechanism, and a unique set of non-repetitive opponents, paving the way for subsequent arcade and home console fighting games. If you want to explore the charm of early fighting games and experience the original excitement of 2D combat, it's definitely a must-play masterpiece.

Game Guide:

I. Moves Usage

  • High/medium/low punches and kicks each have their uses:
  • Low punch is suitable for blocking crouching attacks, and counterattacking with movement;
  • Medium punch is fast and can interrupt normal attacks;
  • High punch is suitable for long-distance defense and output.
  • Jump kicks and crouching kicks have obvious advantages: When enemies frequently jump kick, keep moving horizontally and counterattack with an upward kick, which is the key to dealing with weapon users.

II. Enemy Analysis and Response

  • Buchu (Strong Boxer): High defense but slow movement, use medium punches to hit several times and then high-speed combos; crouching down and counterattacking at the moment he opens his mouth to punch has a significant effect.
  • Weapon-wielding enemies (knives, chains, darts): Maintain a medium to long distance, wait for them to attack, and then quickly counterattack to the side.
  • Ninja female warrior (dart user): Remote attacks are faster; it is recommended to jump kick close first, and then suppress with low or medium punches.

III. Winning Streaks and Point Essentials

  • Winning streaks can provide health bonuses and extra camera rewards, so stable output is very important.
  • The more health you have after the battle, the higher the extra points; perfect completion can trigger the "Perfect" reward.

IV. Skill Improvement Suggestions

  1. Memorize enemy behavior patterns: Each enemy has a fixed pattern of moves; use their pauses to attack and gain an advantage.
  2. Key jump kick training: Quick and accurate jump kicks can break the opponent's rhythm and are the key to getting high scores.
  3. Home version combo experience: Use the Turbo function to combo high on the NES to practice a smooth combo rhythm.
