This game is not just a contest of strength, but a battle of tactics. The rules are simple and clear: within the time limit, deplete your opponents' health by hitting them with the ball until all their players are eliminated. Each character has unique stats (like vitality, power, speed, etc.) and signature special moves, such as Kunio's "Nut Shot" or Riki's "Big Fireball." The court environments are also diverse, including high-resistance sandy beaches, slippery ice surfaces, and high-friction grass fields, all of which directly affect the ball's trajectory and character movement. Its unique 2D pixel art style and exaggerated expressions, like "popping eyeballs," add a great deal of fun to the hardcore competition.
Special Moves (Power Shots) are usually performed in one of two ways. The first is a "Dash Throw": press the throw button on the seventh step of a run. The second is a "Dash Jump Throw": jump during a run and release the ball at the peak of your jump. It's recommended to master the rhythm of your steps in training mode, as these Power Shots not only deal high damage but also have special trajectories (like changing direction, accelerating, or shaking the ground), making them the primary way to defeat boss-level opponents.
Many beginners overlook the three teammates in the outfield. In reality, using your outfielders to cover positions, harass opponents from behind, or catch balls deflected by the enemy can greatly maintain offensive pressure. A special move unleashed by a main attacker on the inner court the instant they receive a pass from an outfielder is often impossible for the opponent to defend against.
When facing an enemy's fierce assault, constantly dodging is not a sustainable strategy. Pressing the "Catch" button (usually A+B or with precise timing) can perfectly nullify the opponent's damage. Successfully catching the ball grants a brief moment of invincibility (i-frames) and allows you to immediately launch a counter-attack with doubled power.
Against high-power opponents like the Soviet team, you should use agile movement to create distance. Against defense-oriented teams like England, you'll need to coordinate with your outfielders to create an opening.
