Game Details:

NBA Jam was officially released into the arcade market by Midway in 1993, sparking a basketball gaming craze across America and the globe. Featuring official NBA licensing, the game included star players from every team of the era. The title completely abandons the tedious rules of traditional basketball, removing fouls and traveling violations in favor of over-the-top physical contact and visual effects. Set in high-octane, All-Star-caliber arenas, its unique digitized live-action motion capture and electrifying play-by-play commentary perfectly blended the raw energy of streetball with NBA star power, becoming one of the highest-grossing sports games in arcade history.

Game Guide:

The core gameplay centers on high-tempo 2-on-2 action. Mastering the "On Fire" mechanic and defensive timing is the key to winning. Since there are no fouls, you should frequently use the shove (Turbo + Steal) to strip the ball or knock opponents down on defense.

Pro Tips:

When a single player makes three consecutive baskets without the opposing team scoring, they enter the "On Fire" state. In this mode, the character has infinite stamina and a near-100% shooting percentage; seize this window to rain down shots from beyond the arc.

On offense, double-tapping the Turbo button while shooting can trigger various flashy fireball dunks that effectively bypass defenders. When facing high-level AI in later stages, avoid playing "hero ball." Use passing to bait defenders into jumping for a block, then pass to an open teammate for an alley-oop.

Properly managing your Turbo meter and maintaining a smooth flow between offense and defense will make defeating your opponents a breeze.
