Game Details:

Raiden DX was released in arcades by Seibu Kaihatsu in 1994. As the ultimate enhanced version of Raiden II, this title retains the classic weapon systems: Red Spread Shot, Blue Laser, and Purple Plasma Laser. The game features three stage levels—Training, Novice, and Expert—set during a future counter-offensive on Earth. Compared to its predecessor, the DX version rearranged the level structure, added numerous hidden bonus items, and introduced more intense enemy bullet patterns. With its detailed mecha debris effects and solid impact feel, it represents the pinnacle of 1990s 2D shoot 'em ups.

Game Guide:

The Red Spread Shot offers wide coverage for clearing fodder enemies, the Blue Laser delivers high concentrated damage for boss fights, and the Purple Laser features an auto-locking homing function.

Core Tips:

  1. Medal Collection: Medals award the highest points when picked up the instant they land, and the second highest while flashing. This is crucial for high-score runs.
  2. Survival Bombs: Raiden's bombs have a slight activation delay; you must anticipate threats and release them early.
  3. Hidden Secrets: Destroying specific buildings reveals the Golden Dragon or Miclus (the blue alien), providing massive bonus points.
  4. Route Selection: Expert Mode is the soul of the game, testing not only memorization but also precise management of enemy spawn patterns.
  5. Boss Tactics: Bosses typically have multiple destructible parts. Destroying side turrets first can greatly reduce the need for complex dodging. Beginners should first master the Purple Laser's locking logic in Training Mode before tackling higher difficulties.
