Game Details:

"Monster World" was officially released by Tuning Electronic in 1994. The game's story is set on a Western fantasy continent shrouded in an ancient curse, where countless skeleton soldiers, ghosts, and ferocious giant monsters have awakened from the darkness to occupy the homes of humanity. Players take on the role of a fearless Paladin, embarking on a journey to dispel the darkness and restore light to the world. This title utilizes classic 2D side-scrolling progression, with an art style steeped in the heavy dark fantasy aesthetic of the early 90s. The game is characterized by high-difficulty platforming, dense enemy spawns, and oppressive boss battles, putting the player's reaction speed and enemy placement memorization to the ultimate test.

Game Guide:

The core gameplay lies in precise jump timing and mid-range weapon suppression.

Pro Tips:

The protagonist's starting weapon is the throwing dagger, which travels in a straight line. In the mid-game, you can break treasure chests to switch to the "Homing Axe" or "High-Potency Holy Water." The Holy Water deals area-of-effect ground damage, making it a godsend for clearing dense groups of skeleton soldiers on the floor. Trap hitboxes in the game are extremely strict, and many floor tiles will crumble and collapse after being stepped on; therefore, avoid rushing blindly into unknown areas. You must maintain a steady pace of "advancing only while attacking." When facing the giant Lava Monster boss in the second stage, remember not to stand directly beneath it, as the boss frequently triggers falling rocks. The correct tactic is to use the stone steps on both sides for positioning and kiting; during the moment of the boss's fire-breathing recovery frames, use a jumping axe throw from the edge of the steps to concentrate fire on the core of its head. Always keep an eye on the stage timer, stay calm, and you will be able to clear the game successfully.
