Mega Man Zero 4 is an action-platformer released by Capcom for the GBA in 2005.
Developed by Inti Creates and published by CAPCOM in April 2005 for the GBA, Mega Man Zero 4 is the final chapter of the Mega Man Zero series. Following the events of the previous game, Dr. Weil has seized absolute power over Neo Arcadia and established a tyrannical rule, driving many humans and Reploids to flee to the naturally recovering "Area Zero." Zero, Ciel, and their allies step forward to confront Weil's "Einherjar Eight" forces. The game introduces the "Zero Knuckle" system, which allows players to seize weapons from enemies, along with a weather system, featuring graphics and audio that represent the peak of the GBA platform.
This installment removes the weapon levels and crystals from previous entries, introducing the Zero Knuckle. By defeating enemies with bare-handed attacks or using it on specific shields, players can steal enemy weapons (such as shields, firearms, and morning stars), which provide extremely effective counters against specific bosses.
Before entering a stage, you can choose between "Sunny" or "Adverse" weather. While choosing Adverse weather increases stage difficulty and grants bosses additional move patterns, defeating a boss under these conditions (or maintaining an S/A rank) is required to obtain crucial EX Skills (such as Flame Fang and Thunder Stab).
This title simplifies the complex Cyber-elf system of its predecessors into a single growing Elf. By feeding it E-Crystals, you can freely allocate points across "Attack, Defense, and Support" abilities. Since using the Elf no longer penalizes mission scores, it is recommended to prioritize Defense to lower the difficulty threshold.
When facing the final boss, Dr. Weil, pay attention to platform positioning to dodge full-screen beams during the first phase. In the second phase, Weil transforms into a massive fused machine; use high-damage Z-Saber jump slashes along with dash invincibility frames to avoid claw attacks to claim the series' most epic and poignant final victory.
