Game Details:

This title is Sunsoft's flagship entry into the 2D fighting game genre, with its most distinct feature being the "infinite arena system." Unlike in traditional fighting games, players cannot corner their opponents, as the screen scrolls infinitely with the characters' movements. This completely changes the tactical logic of "corner pressure." The character design is extremely avant-garde, including a centaur-like character, a robot, and the cute bunny girl, Roomi. For controls, the game uses a four-button layout: the first three buttons correspond to attacks of varying strength, while the fourth is dedicated to taunting. The art style is gorgeous, and the use of zooming effects makes the battles feel incredibly dynamic.

Strategy Guide:

  • Forget about the Corner: In this game, you can never use a wall to trap your opponent, which means there's no such thing as a "last stand" with your back to the wall when defending. If you feel overwhelmed, you can use backdashes to continuously create distance. Similarly, attackers must rely more on their character's advancing special moves and long-range attacks to intercept a retreating opponent.
  • The Strategic Value of Dashing: The combat in Galaxy Fight is extremely fast-paced, and dashing is the foundation for nearly all advanced tactics. Dashing into a light attack (A or B button) allows you to quickly close the distance and poke at your opponent. With no stage boundaries, a powerful advancing move after a high-speed dash (like Rolf's thruster attack) is key to breaking a stalemate.
  • Using Taunts and Psychological Warfare: Although the fourth button is only for taunting, in an actual match, the taunt animation can sometimes bait an opponent into attacking rashly, creating an opportunity for you to punish (counter) them. This is especially effective against the computer AI or inexperienced players, as using the taunt to break the rhythm can effectively disrupt their predictions.
  • Character-Specific Advice: Rolf is a typical all-rounder character, making him suitable for beginners to learn the system through long-range zoning. Roomi, on the other hand, boasts high agility and unpredictable kicking attacks. Against the final boss, Felden, a "wait-and-see" strategy is recommended; use your crouching heavy attack's high priority to counter his aerial assaults.
