Game Details:

Running on the powerful CPS1 arcade board, this title featured massive bosses and detailed environments that were breathtaking for its time. Unlike traditional scrolling shooters, this game does away with fighter jets, instead having characters fly freely through the air with jetpacks. Its core feature is the "Satellite" system, which allows the player to control an orbiting turret that rotates around their character. This rotational control enables precise, 360-degree attacks. Additionally, defeating enemies drops a currency called "Zenny," which players can use in between-level shops to purchase weapon upgrades, body armor, and even health refills. This design introduced early RPG-like progression elements to a pure action game.

Strategy Guide:

  • Master 360-Degree Rotational Fire: This is the soul of the game. The most common mistake new players make is only shooting forward, but enemies in this game often appear from behind or at diagonal angles. Learning to use the satellite to anticipate enemy positions and maintain covering fire while moving is fundamental to survival.
  • Maximize Your Zenny Income: Defeating certain large enemies or destroying hidden structures will drop large amounts of coins. Be sure to pick them up before they disappear, as powerful shop weapons (like the beam cannon or homing missiles) are essential for tackling the tougher later stages.
  • Purchase Priority Recommendations: * Max Health: This should always be your top priority. The game is quite punishing, and your health bar's length directly determines your survivability.
    • Armor: It can absorb a certain number of hits and is extremely cost-effective.
    • Powerful Weapons: It's recommended to buy weapons with long range and a piercing effect, making it easier to clear out mobs in complex terrain.
  • Boss Fight Strategy: The bosses in this game are massive and highly aggressive. Observe the boss's attack wind-ups and use the satellite's rotation to find its blind spots. For example, when fighting the giant statue in the first stage, you should stay on the far left of the screen and use the satellite to shoot its head diagonally.
  • Two-Player Cooperation: If you're playing with a partner, it's recommended that one player handles suppressing enemies in front while the other cleans up enemies from the rear. This division of labor can effectively reduce the pressure from all sides.
