Game Details:

This game's gameplay features a distinctly progressive design. In the first half, players act as a regular police officer, needing to use cover and precise jumps to dodge bullets; in the latter half, after equipping the ICE Combat Armor, the gameplay experience undergoes a fundamental change. In the armored state, the player gains access to flying thrusters and a variety of powerful sub-weapons (such as incendiaries, missiles, and lasers). This sense of progression from "weak" to "heavily armed" is the game's biggest highlight. Sega utilized excellent multi-layered parallax scrolling in this title, giving the crime-ridden future streets and industrial zones a dark and realistic atmosphere.

Strategy Guide:

  • Caution as a Regular Officer: In the first few levels without the armor, you are very vulnerable. Learn to use the upper and lower levels of the terrain for positioning. When facing armed enemies, don't get into a shootout on flat ground; crouch to dodge their bullets and wait for an opening to counter-attack.
  • Armor Energy Management: After equipping the ESWAT armor, you gain the ability to fly, but the jetpack's energy is limited. Overusing it will leave you unable to dodge deadly traps or landmines at critical moments. It's recommended to only use flight when crossing wide chasms or dealing with vertical boss attacks.
  • Strategic Use of Sub-Weapons: The game offers several sub-weapons. "Incendiaries" are most effective against dense groups of minions, while the "Laser" is a powerful tool for hitting boss weak points. Pay attention to the sub-weapon display at the top of the screen and switch to the best ammo for the situation; don't waste powerful missiles on grunts.
  • Boss Battle Breakdown: This game's bosses are massive and have wide attack ranges. The key to victory is finding their blind spots. For instance, with the armored vehicle in the first level, you can avoid most of its shots by hovering diagonally above its front. When facing the bio-mechs in later levels, prioritize destroying their weapon emitters to reduce their rate of fire.
