Game Details:

This title is acclaimed as one of the most gorgeous shoot 'em ups on the Neo Geo platform. Developers utilized advanced pre-rendering techniques to deliver richly layered backgrounds and smooth scaling effects on limited hardware. The game offers six different playable ships. Each ship features not only a unique standard shot and charge shot, but also a one-of-a-kind "Charge Split" system, which allows players to release different forms of enhanced barrages by pressing a second button after charging is complete.

Beyond its audiovisual presentation, the game boasts immense system depth. It introduces highly challenging scoring mechanics, such as gems of varying point values dropping based on the timing of an enemy's destruction, and the renowned "Lucky" rating system. This design, which encourages players to find opportunities amidst danger, has made it a popular choice in arcades for high-score chasers (Score Attack).

Game Guide:

  • Ship Selection Strategy:
    • Hell-Hound: The most balanced performance, suitable for beginners.
    • Windina: Features a wide-spread shot, ideal for clearing out mobs.
    • Aryustailm: Focuses on homing attacks, suitable for players who concentrate on positioning.
    • Peplos: A favorite among experts. While difficult to control, its charge shot is incredibly powerful at max firepower.
  • The Art of the Charge Shot: The game's core mechanic revolves around charging the A button. Holding and then releasing the A button fires a powerful blast, but pressing the B button again during the charge will trigger a "Split Attack." Different ships produce different split-shot trajectories (such as fan-shaped, vertical, or rear-firing), and mastering the timing of this split is key to dealing with enemies behind you or in blind spots.
  • Scoring Secrets: Destroying specific enemies will drop "Coins" or "Gems." Picking up gems in quick succession will cause your score to multiply exponentially. Additionally, during boss fights, try to destroy the boss's detachable parts (rather than defeating the main body directly) to squeeze out more scoring items.
  • Survival Tips: The bottom right of the screen is often a relatively safe zone, but when facing large bosses, you need to learn to utilize your ship's hitbox. In this game, the player ship's hitbox is typically located in the very center of the sprite. As long as you keep this core area safe, your ship's wings can graze the edges of enemy bullets without being destroyed.
