The game utilized a very innovative control scheme for its time. Unlike traditional fighting games, players had to maintain their advantage by rapidly shaking the joystick (to simulate exertion) and pressing buttons. The game features a cast of colorful opponents, including a masked strongman, a robot that fires a grappling hook, and even the series veteran, Bald Bull.
The graphics lived up to the high standards of early Nintendo titles, with characters' expressions changing comically as their strength waxed and waned. The game not only tested a player's raw mashing speed but also incorporated strategic elements. For instance, you had to perform a "counter" or a "cheap shot" based on system prompts at specific moments to completely break your opponent's defense. Due to the immense wear and tear it caused on joysticks, this game was a source of both love and hate for arcade owners back in the day.
