*Sonic 2-in-1* is a classic compilation cartridge released by SEGA for the GBA.
"2 Games in 1: Sonic Advance + Sonic Battle" was co-developed by Sonic Team and Dimps, and published by THQ and Sega in 2005 in North America and Europe. This title is an official GBA compilation, combining the side-scrolling action game "Sonic Advance" (released in 2001) and the 3D fighting game "Sonic Battle" (released in 2003). In the game, players can experience the thrill of clearing stages at extreme speeds and thwarting Dr. Eggman's ambitions while controlling characters like Sonic and Tails in traditional side-scrolling levels, while also running freely across 3D isometric stages to experience deep skill card customization and exhilarating multi-character battles.
The game retains classic platforming mechanics; beginners are recommended to start with Sonic or Tails (who has flight capabilities). Use "Down + Jump" to perform a Spin Dash to defeat enemies; grind rails and springs can be used to quickly build momentum. Collect 50 or more Rings in a level and succeed in the Special Stage challenges to gather all the Chaos Emeralds and unlock the true ending.
Combat is categorized into three Special Attack types: Ground, Air, and Defense, triggered by the R button. The core character, Emerl, can copy movement, attack/defense, and skill cards by defeating opponents; it is recommended to pair Sonic's movement speed with Tails' ranged projectiles. During battles, effectively use "Ground Blow" to knock enemies into walls for secondary collision damage, followed up with aerial combos. By countering high-difficulty AI during their recovery frames, you can easily secure victory.
