This title originally debuted in arcades in 1995 and was later ported to multiple home consoles. Compared to MK3, the Ultimate version not only addressed character balance issues but also greatly expanded the playable roster, including the classic ninja characters. • Running and Pressure: Unlike traditional fighting games, this title has a dedicated "Run" button. • Scorpion: His gameplay revolves around the use of his Spear. Hitting an airborne opponent with the spear is a guaranteed hit. His teleport is effective against zoners, but leaves him extremely vulnerable on block due to its long recovery.
• Sub-Zero: Famous for his classic freeze-based playstyle. After hitting with his Ice Ball, you should immediately follow up with a high-damage combo rather than a simple heavy attack.
• Corner Game: When an opponent is in the corner, they cannot retreat. After landing an uppercut, you can follow up with an aerial special move for a juggle. This is the optimal time to inflict maximum damage.
• Triggering Finishers: Each character's Fatality has specific distance requirements (close, sweep, or full screen).
