Game Details:

This title's visuals and combat feedback were at the pinnacle of the 16-bit era. The game not only supports four-player co-op but also introduces the highly creative "throw enemies at the screen" pseudo-3D special effect, a mechanic that even became the core strategy for defeating certain bosses. Each Turtle has unique weapon attributes and attack ranges: Raphael has a very fast attack speed, Donatello has long reach with his bo staff, and Leonardo's stats are well-balanced. The diverse level designs (like the prehistoric era, the Wild West, and a pirate ship), combined with a dynamic rock soundtrack, offer players an epic adventure.

Game Guide:

  • Core Special Move: Screen Throw: This is the game's most iconic move. When a Ninja Turtle grabs a Foot Clan ninja, holding down the attack button and the down direction will let you throw the enemy directly "at the screen." This not only one-hit KOs that enemy but also damages other grunts in its flight path. In certain stages (like the Shredder cockpit battle), you must throw minions to hit the boss in the background to deal damage.
  • Mobility: Dashing and Sliding: Double-tapping a direction lets you dash, which can be combined with a jump for a powerful "dive kick." Pressing the attack button while dashing will make the Turtle perform a "slide tackle." The slide is an essential move for dodging ranged projectiles and quickly closing in on enemy formations, making it extremely useful when facing Foot Clan ninjas who can fire weapons.
  • Using Environmental Objects: Levels often feature explosive barrels, manhole covers, or flying signs. Attacking explosive barrels can clear out a large area of enemies, but be sure to time your jump to avoid getting hurt by the blast. Additionally, pizza is the only way to restore health, so in multiplayer, it should be prioritized for the teammate with the lowest health.
  • Boss Battle Strategies: Most bosses (like Leatherhead) have fixed attack patterns. It's recommended to use "hit-and-run" tactics: initiate with a jump attack, land a two or three-hit combo, then quickly move vertically (up or down) to dodge the boss's telegraphed counterattack. Thanks to the range advantage of his bo staff, Donatello is the top choice for tackling difficult bosses.
