In the mid-game, catching a high-tier Ground or Fighting-type Pokémon near Fuchsia City or Route 45 can effectively counter the Poison and Dark-type rosters of the Team Rocket Executives. When you set foot on Mt. Silver to face the legendary trainer Red, his fully optimized team of Level 80+ Pokémon is incredibly imposing.
