Compared to its console versions, the arcade version of *Neo Bomberman* is much more fast-paced. The game is divided into two main modes: Normal Mode and Battle Mode. In Normal Mode, White Bomber and Black Bomber must rescue their captured companions. The stages feature unique rescue mechanics and a mount system (such as rideable creatures). Battle Mode is the heart of the game, offering multiple characters with special abilities for players to choose from, such as the dashing "Charger" or the bomb-tossing "Pitcher." The game boasts vibrant graphics, lively sound effects, and a wide variety of power-ups (like the Power Glove, Kick, and Remote Bombs), all of which greatly enhance its strategic depth.
In Battle Mode, characters are more than just palette swaps. **Hayate** has the ability to place remote-controlled bombs, giving him a huge advantage in controlling the field; Kotetsu can teleport, a god-tier skill for escaping deadly situations. Newcomers are advised to start with the well-balanced White/Black Bomber to get used to bomb distances and fire spread patterns.
