"MySims: Kingdom" is a casual adventure + building game released in 2008 on the Nintendo DS and Wii platforms.
The game is set in a forgotten kingdom, where the original Wandoliers (town builders with wands) have left one after another. As a newcomer, players must rebuild the community, help the residents, and gradually restore the kingdom's vitality. Explore the capital and multiple themed islands, each with independent side stories, such as robots running restaurants, zombies tidying up cemeteries, cowboys making friends, and so on. Players collect essences through fishing, mining, chopping trees, finding treasures, etc., which are used to unlock building scrolls and furniture sets. After completing designated tasks, new plots and new scenes can be unlocked.
The game combines elements of construction and character adventure. The operation interface supports the use of a twisting joystick and touch controls, which are simple and intuitive, but there may be problems with inaccurate camera angles or controls when placing objects in a small space. The overall picture is colorful, the characters' expressions are rich, the music is light and pleasant, and the character dialogues use "Simlish" phonetic language to add a sense of humor. It takes about 8–10 hours to complete the main story, and it can be extended to about 16–20 hours of gameplay after completing extra tasks and comprehensive construction. After completing the game, you can still freely create and exchange design materials with others or participate in mini-games.
If you like building simulation games and enjoy relaxed and interesting plot adventures, "Kingdom" is your first choice. It incorporates character stories, light adventures, and construction tasks, with a relaxed pace but rich content. Each island has unique tasks and character clues, allowing players to both unleash their creativity and have clear goals. The construction process involves different styles of furniture sets, which can greatly stimulate the desire to design.
In addition, the cartoon style and Simlish dialogues add to the fun, making it suitable for playing with children. There are various task settings, and after unlocking decorations, clothing, and architectural blueprints, you can play freely, with high replay and collection value. Even if you are not a veteran player of the "Sims" series, this game still wins praise for its approachability and mini-game design.
