Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge is a spin-off strategy battle game released by Capcom in 2003.
Mega Man Battle Chip Challenge was co-developed by CAPCOM and Inti Creates and released for the GBA in 2003. As a spin-off of the classic Mega Man Battle Network series, the story revolves around the newly held "Battle Chip GP." NetNavis and their Operators have signed up to compete for the ultimate honor of being the strongest battler. Instead of real-time movement, players carefully pre-arrange a Program Deck to take on formidable opponents in automated, strategic turn-based battles.
Before battle, chips must be placed into a 3x4 battle grid. Each row of chips cycles automatically based on the turn. Manage the CP (Capacity Points) consumed by your chips to ensure your high-power signature moves trigger reliably.
Study the elemental cycle of Water, Fire, Wood, and Elec. Placing chips of the same element or those with chain effects in the same column can unleash powerful Combo damage and inflict status ailments.
In addition to Lan Hikari and MegaMan.EXE, players can choose characters like Chaud Blaze and ProtoMan.EXE. Each Navi possesses unique innate abilities and starting chips; for instance, ProtoMan excels at high-burst physical slashes, making him ideal for rush-down strategies.
When facing high-defense bosses in the mid-to-late game, prioritize equipping Break and Lock-type chips to restrict the opponent's high-cost ultimate moves. Combine these with multi-hit attacks to maximize damage and secure the championship.
