Game Details:

Among SNK's library of hardcore titles, this game stands out with its softer visual style. Players can not only attack enemies with leaves but also switch to boomerangs or bombs by collecting various items. The game introduces a unique size-changing system: players can make Blue shrink to pass through narrow areas and increase his speed, though at the cost of defense; alternatively, they can maintain his normal size for powerful attacks. Furthermore, the game features branching storylines and multiple endings, with the final outcome determined by the player's interactions with NPCs and the paths they choose in each stage.

Game Guide:

  • Master Size-Changing: This is the core mechanic for clearing the game. Press and hold a specific button (usually the C button) to make Blue shrink. While shrunk, you can't attack directly, but your movement speed becomes extremely fast, allowing you to enter hidden narrow passages to find rare items. When facing dense bullet patterns, shrinking also effectively reduces your hitbox.
  • Weapon Selection:
    • Leaves: The default weapon. It has a short range but can stun enemies.
    • Boomerang: The most recommended weapon. It hits enemies on both its outward and return paths, making it ideal for clearing rows of minions.
    • Bombs: Deals massive damage but has limited range. Primarily used for boss fights or destroying specific parts of the terrain.
  • Resource Management & Spending: There are shops located in the game's stages. Collecting dropped flowers (the currency) is crucial. It's recommended to prioritize buying items that increase your maximum health or powerful weapons. In certain scenes, you'll encounter NPCs asking for help or posing questions. Your choices will determine the direction of subsequent stages, so it's advisable to choose the 'good' options to unlock the path to the best ending.
  • Boss Fight Strategy: Most bosses have clear attack cycles. Use your high mobility when shrunk to dodge large area-of-effect attacks, and once the boss enters a vulnerable state, quickly return to normal size and unleash burst damage with bombs or the boomerang. Remember not to get greedy with your attacks, as the collision damage in this game is quite punishing.
