"Bakugan Battle Brawlers: Battle Trainer" is a strategy + role-playing game released on the Nintendo DS platform in 2010.
Developed by French developer Magic Pockets and published by Activision, this game was released on the North American Nintendo DS platform on March 23, 2010. The game timeline is set between episodes 37 and 38 of the anime, where Dan has amnesia and must retrain his Bakugan, with the goal of saving the Bakugan on Earth from the "Regulars." Core gameplay includes: enhancing Bakugan's mental power in the "Caring Zone" through collecting discs, answering anime trivia, and interacting through touch or blowing, as well as training them through multiple mini-games to increase G-Power and learn new skills (up to five). After completing training, players carry three Bakugan to challenge the Regulars in three-on-three battles, and winning allows them to rescue new Bakugan to join the team. There are approximately 30 collectible Bakugan in the game, including hidden characters and special versions. Although the system is simple, it has some appeal to fans who love collecting.
As a Bakugan training game based on the anime's storyline, this title, while not a core action-battle game, combines strategy cultivation with mini-game interactions, which is quite innovative. The training methods involve mini-games such as touch, blowing, and answering trivia, which are uniquely designed and suitable for players who want to experience the collection + nurturing process. The plot setting is embedded in the anime's worldview, with elements of light nostalgia; and at the same time, you can obtain numerous Bakugan of different attributes and types. For players who like exploring the anime setting, are enthusiastic about collecting characters, and focus on strategy combinations, "Battle Trainer" can bring a different kind of fun from the main battle experience, making up for the lack of casual interaction in large-scale battle games.
