Super Robot Wars A is a tactical RPG released by Banpresto for the Game Boy Advance in 2001.
Released in Japan by Banpresto in September 2001, Super Robot Taisen A was the debut Super Robot Wars title for the Game Boy Advance (with the "A" standing for Advance). The game follows either the male protagonist, Axel Almer, or the female protagonist, Lamia Loveless, as they pilot an original mecha and fight alongside legendary heroes from classic mecha anime like Mobile Suit Gundam, Martian Successor Nadesico, and Mazinger Z. Setting the foundation for subsequent GBA entries in the franchise, the title features top-tier pixel art and deep tactical stage design.
It is recommended to choose the male protagonist, Axel, piloting the "Soulgain" for exceptional mobility and devastating close-quarters melee combat; alternatively, select the female protagonist, Lamia, piloting the "Angelg," who excels at long-range burst damage.
Wing Gundam Zero Custom from Gundam Wing boasts a devastating MAP weapon, serving as the premier unit for farming funds and clearing enemy waves; Shin Getter Robo delivers unmatched physical burst damage for executing bosses; and Amuro and Char feature elite evasion stats, making them ideal for frontline skirmishing and chipping down enemy HP.
Prioritize upgrading max EN and primary weapons for your core units. Always take advantage of the aura effects from EWAC (electronic warfare) units, as standing within EWAC range grants valuable bonus Hit and Evade rates.
When confronting high-HP bosses equipped with the Prevail skill, start by having support pilots cast "Daunt" to suppress the boss's Morale. Then, have your hardest-hitting units activate "Strike" along with "Valor" or "Soul" to unleash their strongest attacks for a decisive, lethal burst.
