Game Details:

Developed by GAME FREAK, Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet feature a seamlessly connected open-world design. Players take on the role of an exchange student at either Naranja Academy or Uva Academy to participate in an independent study project known as the "Treasure Hunt." The game’s core narrative is woven from three main storylines: the traditional "Victory Road" (challenging the eight Gyms), "Starfall Street" (confronting school troublemakers), and the "Path of Legends" (searching for rare ingredients). This title introduces the brand-new "Terastal" mechanic, which can change a Pokémon's type and turn the tide of battle at critical moments. Additionally, players can ride the Legendary Pokémon Koraidon or Miraidon to glide, climb, and surf, significantly enhancing the freedom of map exploration.

Game Guide:

The core gameplay revolves around a "multi-storyline progression strategy" and "Terastal type countering."

Pro Tips:

Early Route Planning: As a fully open world, wild areas and Gyms do not feature dynamic level scaling. It is highly recommended to prioritize the "Path of Legends" (defeating Titan Pokémon) early on. Each time you defeat a Titan, your mount (Koraidon or Miraidon) unlocks a new traversal ability (such as surfing, high jumping, or gliding), which will greatly facilitate your travel to higher-level regions later.

Starter & Capture Recommendations: For starters, we recommend choosing the Grass-type Sprigatito (which eventually evolves into Meowscarada, featuring the guaranteed-hit, guaranteed-crit signature move Flower Trick) or the Fire-type Fuecoco (which evolves into Skeledirge, capable of boosting its Special Attack while attacking with Torch Song). During early exploration, catching a Fidough (which evolves into Dachsbun—immune to Fire-type moves thanks to its ability and high Defense) or a high-speed physical attacker can help you effectively handle many early-game battles.

Terastal Battle Techniques: The Terastal phenomenon is the trump card for turning battles around. It not only boosts the power of moves matching the Pokémon's original type but also allows a Pokémon to survive a lethal blow by "changing its type." For example, Terastallizing your Fire-type Pokémon into a Grass-type allows it to resist Water-type attacks and counter with Grass-type moves. When challenging Gyms and Tera Raid Battles, carefully observe the opponent's Tera Type and utilize type matchups to deal massive damage. This is the key to clearing the game and conquering the Paldea League.
