"Kamen no Ninja Hanamaru" is an FC platform side-scrolling action game where players take on the role of a ninja apprentice, embarking on a rescue mission in a paradise filled with traps and enemies.
Kamen no Ninja Hanamaru (Japanese: 仮面の忍者花丸) is an action platform game for the Famicom platform released in Japan in 1990. The game was developed by Now Production and published by Capcom. It adopts the traditional side-scrolling format, with the player controlling "Hanamaru", a masked ninja boy, as he embarks on an adventure in the theme park "Leisure Island", defeating enemies and rescuing kidnapped children. The game features a variety of level designs, including special movement methods like skateboards and flying eagles, and concludes with boss battles in the form of card duels, which are both fun and challenging. Later, the game was re-skinned and repackaged as "Yo! Noid" for the North American market.
As one of the representative works of the late FC era, "Kamen no Ninja Hanamaru" showcases impressive visual performance and gameplay diversity. Its vibrant art style and rich level design are eye-catching, while the addition of special stages and unique card-based boss battles bring more strategy to the game. Although the game is relatively difficult, with frequent enemy attacks, this is precisely where its charm lies. For players who enjoy action platform games on the Famicom, this game is definitely not to be missed.
