Game Details:

As a product of the golden age of arcades, Frogger features vibrant colors and straightforward level design. The game is divided into two halves: the top half is a busy highway where various trucks and cars cross the screen at different speeds, and the player must find a gap to navigate through. The bottom half is a flowing river where the player needs to use floating logs or the backs of turtles as platforms. The game introduces a strict time limit and complex environmental interactions, such as turtles that dive underwater and randomly appearing predators like alligators and snakes. As the levels advance, the movement speed increases, demanding more precise control from the player.

Game Guide:

  • Observe Rhythms and Patterns: The traffic on the road and the objects in the river all move in cycles. Before you start, take a moment to observe and find the widest gap. Generally, the safe median strip between lanes is a good place to pause and observe.
  • Make Good Use of Turtle Platforms: Some turtles will periodically dive underwater. If you are standing on a group of turtles about to submerge, be sure to jump to an adjacent log or the riverbank before they change color or disappear.
  • Watch the River's Edge: The edge of the screen is deadly. If your frog is on a log that gets carried off the edge of the screen, you will lose a life. Try to stay active in the central area of the screen.
  • Go for Bonus Points: Occasionally, a fly (in an empty home base) or a female frog (on a log) will appear. When time permits and it is safe, touching them will award a large number of bonus points, which is crucial for players aiming for a high score.
  • Plan Your Entry: The level is cleared once all five home bases at the top are filled. Be careful: if an alligator's head is visible in one of the homes, do not force your way in. Choosing the safest home base, often at the edges, is usually the best strategy for a steady clear.
